The End Times | 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 | Pastor Andy Rock

We are reminded to live with unwavering hope and purpose, trusting in Jesus’ victory over death. Paul’s words in 1 Thessalonians encourage us that no matter the chaos or fear around us, Jesus’ resurrection guarantees eternal life for those who believe. This truth empowers us to pray boldly, love sacrificially, and share our faith without hesitation. History shows that Christians, grounded in this hope, have brought light to the darkest times, proving that Jesus wins. Let’s stand firm in His promise, encourage one another, and live as beacons of faith and love in a broken world.

The Only Way is Through | 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 | Pastor Kurt Pflegl

Paul's letter to the Thessalonian church reminds us of a profound truth: even in the shadow of death, we can walk in hope because of Jesus. For believers, death is temporary, like sleep, as Jesus' resurrection proves He has conquered it. While grief is a natural part of life, our faith allows us to grieve with hope, trusting that this world’s endings are not final. Jesus promises eternal life and resurrection, transforming endings into new beginnings. Paul encourages us to choose hope daily and lean into our church community for support, helping one another surrender grief and fear to Jesus and receive His peace in return. Let’s embrace this hope and live in the resurrection life He offers now and forever.

The Quiet Life | 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12 | Pastor Kurt Pflegl

In his letter to the Thessalonians, Paul reminds them—and us—of the gift we carry: God’s love and peace, even in the midst of chaos. Despite persecution, he encourages them to live in a way that pleases God, not through perfection but by embracing their identity as chosen, holy, and beloved. Paul urges them to reject the enemy's lies and to avoid turning to temporary comforts that only increase their burdens. God’s Spirit within us continually transforms us, inviting us to choose lives marked by love and peace. This “quiet life”—focused and rooted in God’s love—becomes a testimony to others. As we receive and share this peace, it grows and uplifts those around us.

Our Crown | 1 Thessalonians 3 | Pastor Andy Rock

Paul’s message to the Thessalonians reveals what honors God most: the people we love and serve. Our true “crown” in God’s presence isn’t personal achievements but the lives we uplift through genuine love and sacrifice. For Paul, Silas, and Timothy, love wasn’t about feelings but steadfast actions, even amid persecution. Trials are inevitable, yet Paul demonstrates that our response should be greater love and encouragement. The impact of loving others isn’t always immediate, but seeing transformed lives renews our strength. Paul’s prayer is for love to increase and overflow, and we’re invited to make it our own, drawing from Jesus’ love to empower us. As we embrace this call, we’re building a lasting legacy that reflects God’s kingdom.

Our Glory and Joy | 1 Thessalonians 2:13-20 | Pastor Andy Rock

In 1 Thessalonians, Paul writes to his friends in Thessalonica, acknowledging their shared suffering and celebrating their resilient faith. Even through persecution, they’ve embraced God’s word as truth and trusted in His timing. In this, Paul reminds us that even in our hardest moments, we’re not alone—Jesus knows our pain and offers a way forward. He invites us to let go of resentment, releasing judgment to Him, the only true judge, and to find freedom through forgiveness. May we let this message into our own hearts, allowing Christ’s love to shape us and deepen our purpose to impact others, just as He has unconditionally loved and forgiven each of us.

What it Means to Believe | 1 Thessalonians 2:9-16 | Pastor Andy Rock

Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians encourages the believers to stay strong amidst hardships, reminding them of the love and leadership shown by him, Silas, and Timothy. Rather than leading by authority or people-pleasing, they modeled Christ-like leadership—vulnerable like children, selfless like mothers, and supportive like brothers. Their leadership wasn’t about gaining power or favor but about sharing their lives and serving others, even when it came at a personal cost. Paul compares leadership to family roles: mothers nurture, siblings work side by side, and fathers encourage and guide with love. He emphasizes that Christ, like an older brother, made a way for us to be part of God’s family through His sacrifice, urging believers to live lives worthy of God’s love. Through embracing these familial roles, we reveal God’s love to others, no matter the challenges we face.

Overcoming People Pleasing | 1 Thessalonians 2:1-7 | Pastor Andy Rock

This message from 1 Thessalonians focuses on the power of perseverance through hardship and keeping Jesus as our first love. Despite suffering, Paul, Silas, and Timothy remained committed to sharing the good news, relying on the Holy Spirit for strength. The call here is to stop relying on others' reactions or using manipulation and instead live with honesty and vulnerability before God and others. By choosing Jesus above all, we invite true joy, unity, and purpose into our lives, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide us through challenges and transform our hearts and relationships.

The Heart of Our Savior | 1 Thessalonians 1:1-9 | Pastor Andy Rock

The early Christians in Thessalonica faced immense trials, yet their unwavering faith in Jesus Christ remained steadfast. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, they demonstrated remarkable perseverance, love, and hope. Their story serves as a powerful testament to the transformative power of God’s love and the enduring nature of His faithfulness. Let us be inspired by their example, choosing faith over fear, love over hate, and hope over despair.

Don't Give Up | Galatians 6 | Pastor Andy Rock

This message highlights how perseverance and the law of abundance shape our faith, urging us to keep sowing good even when the harvest feels delayed. Paul’s agricultural analogy shows that every action—good or bad—brings a multiplied return. Sowing love, joy, and peace brings blessings, while anger and selfishness lead to destruction. Though it’s easy to grow weary when our efforts seem unnoticed, Paul encourages us to trust God’s timing for the harvest. Just as Jesus never gives up on us, we’re called to continue loving and giving, no matter the response. With God's strength, our perseverance is never in vain.

Restoration | Galatians 6:1-10 | Pastor Andy Rock

Restoration is at the heart of God's love, and He invites us to be part of it through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. When someone is trapped in sin, our role is to restore them gently, as God does with us. Sin brings its own consequences, but God doesn’t add to our guilt. The enemy tries to deceive us into believing that God condemns us like he does, but God's approach is always gentle. We're called to carry each other’s burdens and restore others in humility, without judgment. Jesus invites us to trust Him for rest, as He carries both our sin and our restoration.

More Fruits of the Spirit | Galatians 5:22-26 | Pastor Andy Rock

In Paul’s letter to the Galatians, he teaches that the qualities God desires in us are gifts from the Holy Spirit, not something we earn through effort. When we place our trust in Jesus, the Spirit begins transforming us from within, filling us with the essence of God’s heart—love, peace, patience, and more. These gifts shape how we relate to ourselves and others. Paul urges us to stop trying to save ourselves through our own strength, but instead to rely on the Spirit, confessing our struggles and trusting God in every situation.

The Fruit of the Spirit | Galatians 5:15-24 | Pastor Andy Rock

In Galatians 5, Paul reminds us that our identity in Christ is received, not earned, and true freedom comes from surrendering control to God. When we try to manage everything ourselves, it leads to harmful behaviors and divisions. In contrast, living by the Spirit fills us with God’s transformative qualities—bringing a sense of peace, joy, patience, and a heart inclined towards goodness and kindness. These are not things we can achieve through effort but are gifts from God that flow naturally when we trust and surrender to Him. By letting go of our need for control, we allow God’s love to shape us and flow through us, guiding our lives in a more fulfilling way.

Identity is received not achieved | Galatians 5:1-13 | Pastor Andy Rock

In Galatians, we learn that our identity in Jesus is received, not earned. The early church faced tensions as Jewish believers tried to impose rules on new non-Jewish converts, reflecting how we often turn to rules and achievements to find worth. However, striving for perfection can lead us away from the grace and freedom that Jesus offers. Paul reminds us that true freedom lies in embracing our identity in Christ—loved, forgiven, and chosen—without the burden of proving ourselves. Instead of being weighed down by rules or trying to control outcomes, we’re invited to trust Jesus, express faith through love, and serve others humbly. Let’s embrace this freedom, live with a sense of divine purpose, and trust that our worth is secure in Christ’s love.

Living in God’s Freedom | Galatians 5 | Pastor Andy Rock

In this uplifting message from Galatians, we're reminded of the freedom found in living with love, forgiveness, and trust in Jesus. We’re called to care for our communities without division, knowing our worth isn’t tied to perfect obedience but to God’s unwavering love. The story of Abraham and Sarah shows us that even when we falter, God’s promises hold true. Instead of proving ourselves, we stand firm in the freedom Jesus gives, allowing His love to transform us and bring hope to others. Let's embrace this freedom together, trusting that our smallest acts of love can bring a lasting impact.

Spending our Inheritance | Galatians 4 | Pastor Andy Rock

In today’s sermon, we examine how tribalism has replaced a citizen mindset, where responsibility is limited to those within our own groups. Jesus has broken down these divisions, making us all part of one family under God. As heirs in Christ, we’re called to let go of past fears and selfishness, embracing the freedom He offers. Instead of clinging to divisive rules, we should trust God’s Spirit to help us overcome these challenges and live out kindness, generosity, and forgiveness. Let’s open our hearts to this message of unity and transformation, recognizing that our shared inheritance in Christ unites us beyond all divisions.

The Curse of Being Your Own God | Galatians 3 | Pastor Andy Rock

I curse myself when I strive for perfection apart from God, judging others for the same shortcomings I possess and seeking fulfillment in things that don't satisfy. I can't manufacture lasting joy, love, hope, security, or significance, nor can I sustain the perfection required in work, relationships, or within my own soul. Trying to be my own god only leads to pride, anger, and exhaustion. We have two choices: trust Jesus to be God and let Him judge us, or trust ourselves and face inevitable failure. Jesus judges us guilty but bears the punishment Himself, taking on the curse so we can be free. His overwhelming love means He endures the pain and death we deserve. In Him, our curse is lifted, revealing that we are more broken than we admit and more loved than we dare to hope.
